Partnering and Joint Ventures

Do your best work, together

Delivering great work for large projects or initiatives invariably requires different organisations or commercial entities to work and collaborate closely with each other to get the job done and for their mutual benefit.

While this such collaboration can produce great results, it can also present challenges for different organisational teams, who discover that ‘collaboration’ is easier to say that to enact, when each organizational team has different cultural attitudes, approaches and ways of working, fuelled by different needs and different views of what is important, with different priorities often dictated to by their ‘home’ organisations.

These differences can sometimes be accommodated. However, when not recognised and resolved, their effects can exponentially increase, resulting in high levels of miscommunication, misunderstanding, frustration, unhelpful pervading narratives and eventually dysfunction. Such dysfunction invariably has a high emotional and financial cost.

Excellence in Partnering and Joint Ventures

Purpose:

These bespoke Programmes bring together teams from different organisations to support them to better understand each other and the type of relationship they need to have to accomplish the common task; creating new and more effective way of working together in order that they can deliver - together.

Process:

These bespoke programmes usually include:

Interviews with team members and key stakeholders to understand the current context and recurring issues.

One to one coaching support for each team leader and the implementation of joint sessions with both leaders to align on the real issues facing both teams in their work together.

A series of workshops with both teams, to build mutual understanding of current needs and each parties requests of each other, as a preliminary to the development of a joint plan that can pragmatically enable higher levels of cooperation and cohesion.

As appropriate, these workshops also aim to support leaders and team members to:

Understand differences and how to use them well to create greater effectiveness, rather than being used by them that invariably leads to dysfunction.

Explore the nature of conflict, how it arises, its positive and negative attributes, and to how, with the right mindset and behaviours, it can be seen as a necessary element in the development of a strong working partnership.

Supporting leaders and team members to feel better equipped to have the difficult or essential conversation they need to have with colleagues and other team members.

As a result, you will get:

A genuine partnership with your delivery partners or newly merged colleagues.

A positive shift in the quality of conversations each party has with each other with a corresponding increase in trust.

Better decision making between partners through a healthy relationship with sufficient challenge and support.

A refreshed collaborative culture that unlocks business value and reduces both costs, in time, resources and emotional and psychological fatigue.
